the party is over, 2 bottles of wine and a ice-cream cake later

Today was our daughter’s second birthday. (Happy birthday, Maisie!) I was driving home form work when I received a call from home warning of the convergence of the grandparents on Casa Wine. The expected party at home was to be mommy, daddy, daughter and the two furry additions, Elmo the cat and Lucy the dog. It was to be an intimate party this weekend and the official party with the whole family next weekend when all members could attend. Over all the event went well: a quick call to the pizza delivery and a stop by the local wine shop scored us some affordable wine. I ended up getting Pepperwood Grove Pinot Noir and Redwood Creek Pinot Noir. Both were a hit, especially the Pepperwood, which was very easy to drink on its own while opening gifts, and equally tasty with pepperoni pizza. A definite value for ~8USD a bottle.
