Tonight Mrs. Grapeinabottle experimented with a new recipe, corn pudding. I must say it was a perfect side dish with bar-b-que chicken and black-eyed peas and not as weird as it seems. Really, it’s more like a corn dressing or stuffing with a nice sweetness. We decided to pair this dinner with Wrongo Dongo 2006 Monastrell – Mourvedre Red Wine
, a nice Spanish wine. This red has a deep ruby color with blackberry and an earthy spiciness that was great with the chicken. For under $10 a bottle this a definitely an experiment that succeeded.

I had never made corn pudding until I moved to Virginia. My husband LOVES it and it accompanies every Holiday meal.
The wine sounds wonderful!

Just had a similar experience with Castillo del Baron Monastrell. I love Spanish red wines, so I can’t wait to try “Wrongo Dongo”. Thanks for the tip.
