Each year, over 25,000 beaches in the United States are closed or posted as unhealthy [source: www.surfrider.org]. To remedy this, Barefoot Wine and Surfrider Foundation encourage local residents to volunteer at cleanup and restoration events across the country to help make these beaches “barefoot-friendly.”
The Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project is back for its third straight year, and this time it’s bigger than ever! In celebration of Surfrider Foundation’s 25th Anniversary, Barefoot Wine and the Surfrider Foundation are rescuing, renewing and restoring 25 beaches this summer.
Check out Barefoot’s site to see how you may participate.

Mrs. Grapeinabottle recently added these Marcel wine glasses to spruce up are dinner ware for an up coming party. I know a nice Shiraz or Pinot Noir will look perfect in these eye catching wine glasses. If you don’t have an up coming event, these would definitely make a perfect wine lover’s gift.

Summer Sippers – wines that taste great in a plastic cup!
I don’t know, but at these prices I am sure I will find out. What better way to celebrate the 4th of July or just a casual barbeque with friends than a nice easy drinking wine in a dixie cup. I hope everyone has a great fourth of July.

Today I have been invited to a bar-b-que by my neighbors and have decided to try out a wine for my July fourth celebration. I thought it would be a good opportunity to try this wine before serving it on Independence day. the 718 Barbeque pack from Brooklyn Oenology features a red they call the Social Red Club with plush fruit flavors with a pinch of pepper, baking herbs, and smoke. I think this will go great with ribs, chicken, or burgers. After a sip pre-party today, this wine is fruity with the right amount of smoke and pepper punch. I’m sure this red will be the hit of your red, white, and blue celebration.

June 25th, 2009 · Merlot
I’m sure you have now heard that Michael Jackson has supposedly died from a heart attack today, so what better way to mourn his death than with a nice glass of Monkey Bay Merlot and listening to some of his greatest hits. I have chosen this bottle of Monkey Bay Merlot to honor Mr. Jackson’s love for his pet monkey Bubble’s. So let us raise a glass and remember all the great music Michael gave to this world from the Jackson Five to his solo career. I know I will never forget the Thriller album as it hit while I was at summer camp. I’m not sure how good the wine will be as I am just opening it now, but will perhaps make a separate post after I have digested this news and the wine of course.
